HYDRO 2016 Conference – Information for Authors and Speakers
This Website is for the IFHS Hydro conference 2016. The next conference will take place 30 October – 02 November 2018 in Sidney, Australia. Please see www.hydro18.ahs.asn.au for details.
More than 50 paper proposals have been selected by the paper committee for oral presentations at HYDRO 2016, please see the conference programme.
Abstracts / Papers
Authors are requested to send a revised abstract (250 – 350 words, no figures or tables) by end of July. This abstract will be published in the conference handbook.
All authors are invited to prepare a conference paper (2,000 – 3,000 words) by end of August. This paper will be put on a USB memory stick and given to all attendees. See also section "Publication Rights" below for details.

Delegate Registration
All speakers have to register as delegate. A reduced speaker's fee accounts for all speakers, while early bird rates are applicable only if payment is received by bank transfer by end of July.
Presentations
Speakers will have 20 minutes for presentation of their papers and 5 minutes for questions. Please make sure your presentation fits into these limits, session chairs are requested to strict with the time table.
A computer (MS Windows) with MS PowerPoint software and data projector will be available. Before your session you must arrange with the session chair to load your presentation on the auditorium computer – have it available on flash memory.
please provide a brief CV of yourself to the session chair that could be used to introduce you.
Publication Rights
By submitting the conference paper to the HYDRO 2016 organizers each author agrees to give the Deutsche Hydrographische Gesellschaft (DHyG, German Hydrographic Society) the right to spread his/her paper at HYDRO2016 via USB stick to the conferences delegates. If not refused by the corresponding author, the paper may further be uploaded to the HYDRO 2016 and/or DHyG web site without any compensation. Selected papers might be considered for publication in "Hydrographische Nachrichten". If selected, the corresponding authors will be contacted directly for clarification.

HYDRO 2016 Conference – Call for Papers
The call for papers has been closed. Thanks for submitting that many abstracts. The paper committee is evaluating all proposals and will notify the authors on the results by end of April.
Conference Theme
There is no dedicated topic for HYDRO 2016. The call is open to abstracts addressing a hydrographic theme, including, but not limited to:
- Latest technological advances and emerging markets
- Capacity Building
- Hydrographic surveying
- Data processing and management
- Nautical charting
- Coastal mapping and seafloor classification
- Marine renewables
- Education & training
We expect an increase of presentations related to the emerging business of offshore wind farming in the wake of the "Energiewende".
Student Session
Students and graduates are especially invited to submit presentations for a dedicated student session. GBP 500 and a framed certificate will be awarded to the best student presentation at HYDRO as adjudged by the delegates in the audience.
Abstract Requirements
Authors are invited to submit abstracts of 300 words or less (plus 1 figure) before 31st March 2016. The submitted abstract must include the following:
- Title of the proposed presentation
- Name of Author(s) and contact information, including title, organisation, address, telephone and e-mail
- Identification of primary author and intended presenter
Guidelines for submitting an extended abstract and for the presentation will be sent to authors when notified of acceptance.
